Pápáyér are 3 lads from Derby doing a thing in the vein of Everyone Everywhere, Monument, The Summer We Went West & The Jesus Years, they also make me jealous of being so talented at such a young age!

They popped into the Snug Studios on a late February eve to record these four gems and I feel justified in saying that Rich and Robbie have done the job of making them sound the best session done yet.

Thanks go out to Robbie and Rich at the studio, the band themselves and of course Beal for the loan of his camera .

There's a session lined up for July but hopefully another before that.

Sessions @ Snug #3 - Once There Were Dinosaurs

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of heading to Snug with fellow Derby-ites Once There Were Dinosaurs to record a mini session as part of the Sessions @ Snug series. Unfortunately due to the lack of a video camera and my cackhanded attempts at filming it on Robbie’s iPhone, we had to settle for audio only, but it’s just as enjoyable none the less!

Also due to me being skint, it’s unlikely we’ll see another session before the year ends but there’s some ace bands that we have lined up for the New Year so please be patient!

Sessions @ Snug #2 – Grown Ups/Into It. Over It.

It’s finally time for session 2 in the Sessions @ Snug series!
Thanks go out to both bands for stopping over during their hectic tour , Robbie and Rich for recording the damn thing and to Biff for the lovely shaky cam footage of Grown Ups. My only regret being that I didn’t anticipate Doyle facing away from the camera during Grown Ups set. Oh well!

Evan of Into It. Over It. was also kind enough to record an ‘exclusive’ of sorts, a version of a song called No Sleep ’til Humboldt from his new band Stay Ahead of the Weather. Listen to it just below.

Sessions @ Snug #1 – Crushing Blows

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the first entry in the “Sessions @ Snug” series is finally done! The session was recorded earlier this month and is now online for your viewing pleasure!

MASSIVE thanks go out to Robbie at The Snug Recording Co, the band themselves and to all those that gave positive feedback to the whole idea of these sessions.

We all agreed that there wasn’t much point in uploading just the audio as it takes away the complexity of what both members actually perform live, so enjoy the videos below!
